Ordinary objects for extraordinary feedback

This is a temporary installation where the participants have the opportunity to share their personal references, objects and visions, regarding their place of belonging. Bringing a personal object can foster participants to share inner thoughts, setting the mood for giving and receiving feedback.

  • Pegs
  • Cottons strings
  • Table
  • Pencils
  • Labels/Sticky notes (small and big)

Steps

  • The facilitator must launch the activity on-line and offline (preliminary activity), asking participants to bring with them object(s) able to represent their vision of the community life.
  • The facilitator asks participants to label the object, fulfilling the label (1. Title, 2. Owner, 3. Describe the object, 4. Why do you choose it).
  • The facilitator then asks participants to place the objects within the exhibition (near an object that relates to their own item).
  • The facilitator then asks participants to fulfill another label, giving A feedback (1. What do you imagine for our community future?)

Tips

  • The facilitator must be prepared to have an active role, introducing the goal and the rules of the activity.
  • During the activity, the facilitator must guide participants to talk to each other and to participate in the activity.
